Community Response Partner Network: Staying Cool and Informed about Extreme Heat

June 2 is Global Heat Action Day!

This year’s Heat Action Day theme, indoor heat, highlights the health risks people face inside their homes, schools, workplaces, and other indoor spaces. Learn more about the campaign.

Very hot weather can lead to dangerously high temperatures inside, which can be dangerous for everyone.

Some people are more likely to get sick with heat-related illnesses in these conditions:

  • Adults aged 65 and older
  • Infants and young children
  • People with chronic medical conditions, like diabetes or heart disease
  • People who work without air conditioning
  • People who can’t shelter in an air-conditioned space during extreme heat

There has already been a declared Heat Caution this year in Philly, and last year, we had a Heat Health Emergency in June. We want to make sure you and your communities are prepared early.

Refer to this list for ways to help communities stay cool and informed about extreme heat, indoors and outdoors.
