Infection Prevention Symposium

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health, Division of Disease Control hosted a Infection Prevention Symposium focusing on antimicrobial stewardship and carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE). The purpose of this symposium was to promote education, communication, and collaboration within the Philadelphia healthcare community for the prevention and control of antimicrobial resistance. By the end of the workshop, attendees better understood how healthcare professionals can intervene and work together to decrease the transmission of CRE/multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs) across the continuum of care.
