Emergency Communications

PDPH maintains a number of communication networks to ensure that both internal and external partners can receive key response information in a timely and efficient fashion. Click on the corresponding links below to enroll in each of the Department's emergency communication networks.

Internal Employee Alert System

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH) maintains contact information for staff in a secure employee alert system, Everbridge, to quickly distribute official emergency messages. Everbridge allows PDPH to simultaneously send messages to recipients via email, text, or phone call.

Community Response Partner Network

The Community Response Partner Network (CRPN) is a network of over 1,500 community and faith-based organizations and leaders who have signed up to receive critical information about public health emergencies to share with networks and residents. Sign up to receive information about a variety of preparedness and response topics to help all Philadelphia communities stay informed and safe.

Messages are sent out every other week.

If you have questions about this form or would like any information in a language other than English, please email healthresponse@phila.gov.

Code Blue/Red Notifications

The Office of Homeless Services (OHS) and City of Philadelphia may activate a Code Blue when we're expecting very cold conditions and Red when we're expecting very hot conditions.

  • A CODE RED may be declared when heat and humidity become a concern for people who are experiencing homelessness and those more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses. Code Reds also affect pet care.
  • A CODE BLUE may be declared when winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to people experiencing homelessness.
