Other Respiratory Viruses

View Previous Years

The following graphs depict the aggregate results of PDPH's respiratory virus surveillance. Care should be taken with the interpretation of these results. These summaries display the provisional, year-to-date counts (or, in some cases, percentage positivity) of respiratory viruses by week of report. Comparable data for preceding years are shown as well. All surveillance data are preliminary and are not intended for further distribution.

Activity Summary – Week 1

Rhinovirus/enterovirus activity has declined steadily over the past four weeks, with 44 positive specimens and a percent positive of 6.7% reported during week 1 of 2026. RSV activity during week 1 remained high and was similar to the previous week, with 241 positive specimens reported and a percent positive of 5.7%. Overall, RSV activity has been lower so far this season compared to the past three seasons and has remained below peak activity from the 2024-2025 season. Adenovirus, parainfluenza 1, and human metapneumovirus were also identified during week 1.
