Philadelphia Department of Public Health
Health Alert Network
Registration Form
The Health Alert Network (HAN) is an emergency notification system for public health, health care, and emergency response personnel. The HAN is part of a national initiative launched by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 1999.
The Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH) uses the HAN to deliver time-critical, health-related information to healthcare professionals and key personnel from a variety of businesses and community organizations in Philadelphia. HAN messages issued by PDPH may also be developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). HAN messages are sent via e-mail and fax to registered users based on medical speciality or area of expertise. Roughly 25-30 health alerts are issued each year. Health alerts and related information are also accessible here.
