Vaccine Information
- Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) is a vaccine for tuberculosis (TB) disease. BCG does not always protect people from getting TB and is not recommended for the majority of persons in the United States. The BCG vaccine is only recommended for select people who meet specific criteria and in consultation with a TB expert. Health care providers who are considering BCG vaccination for their patients are encouraged to discuss this intervention with the TB control program.
Diagnostics and Treatment
Reporting to PDPH
- All cases of TB need to be reported to the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH) Tuberculosis Control Program within 24 hours
- Report TB cases to the PDPH TB Control Program by calling 215-685-6873 during business hours or completing and faxing an TB report form below to 215-685-6477
